Dr. Jasmine Bankhead, R.N., embodies the essence of a visionary leader, whose diverse educational background and entrepreneurial spirit have paved the way for her remarkable impact in education, healthcare, and beyond. With degrees in Educational Leadership, Nursing, and Psychology, Dr. Bankhead’s multifaceted expertise has fueled her commitment to transformative leadership, innovation, and societal betterment.

Throughout her career, Dr. Bankhead has ventured into various entrepreneurial endeavors, launching and managing enterprises aimed at providing essential services to underserved populations. Her ventures notably include a healthcare agency dedicated to offering comprehensive care to the elderly and neurodivergent populations, as well as an autism center focused on delivering specialized therapy for young children. These initiatives highlight Dr. Bankhead’s role as a socialpreneur, driven by a passion to serve and make a difference in the community.

Dr. Bankhead’s educational contributions are equally profound. With over two decades of experience, she has served in numerous capacities within the education sector, from classroom teacher and school principal to university professor and strategic consultant. Her work, particularly in implementing effective school turnaround models, has significantly impacted at-risk student communities, demonstrating her deep commitment to educational excellence and leadership.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Bankhead’s dedication to societal change extends to her philanthropic efforts. Through various initiatives and as a valued board member of several organizations, she supports aspiring entrepreneurs and drives societal change. Her commitment has been recognized with prestigious accolades, affirming her status as a champion for change.

Imani Robinson, BCBA

Imani Robinson, BCBA

Clinical Director

Born and raised in Chicago with a deep-rooted passion for making a difference in the lives of others, Imani embarked on a journey driven by the desire to empower individuals with disabilities and create a more inclusive society.

Imani began her academic pursuits at Northern Illinois University, where she earned an undergraduate degree in Family Consumer Nutrition Sciences with a focus on Family Services. It was during this time that she discovered her calling to support and uplift vulnerable communities, particularly those facing intellectual, physical, and learning challenges and she continued her participation in the International Organization Best Buddies collaborating with the local community to create one to one friendships to support families and individuals with intellectual and developmental individuals. 

Upon graduating, Imani dedicated herself to practical work in the field, joining National Louis University’s P.A.C.E program. Here, as a vocational coach and residential life assistant, she played a pivotal role in guiding young adults towards independence and meaningful employment. Her unwavering commitment to nurturing essential life skills left an indelible mark on the students she mentored, instilling in them the confidence and capabilities needed to thrive independently in the community.

Eager to deepen her understanding and expertise in special education and behavioral analysis, Imani pursued a Master’s degree with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis at Arizona State University. Armed with this advanced knowledge, she transitioned into the role of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, where she continued her mission of empowering individuals across the lifespan.

Throughout her career, Imani has tirelessly advocated for the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities, striving to break down barriers and challenge societal perceptions. Whether working with children or adults, her approach is marked by compassion, empathy, and a steadfast belief in the potential of every individual to flourish.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Imani finds solace and inspiration in exploring the rich tapestry of cultures and experiences our world has to offer. From the vibrant streets of Hungary to the bustling cities of China, she embraces every opportunity to broaden her horizons and deepen her appreciation for diversity.

In every facet of her life, Imani remains dedicated to the principles of equity, justice, and empowerment. Through her work, advocacy, and personal journey, she continues to illuminate the path towards a more inclusive and compassionate society.

Johnetta McNeal

Johnetta McNeal

Director of Education and Behavior Consultant

Johnetta McNeal is the Director of Education and Behavior Consultant at Spectrum of Smiles, a role in which she showcases her profound expertise in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). A proud alumna of The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, Johnetta holds a Master’s degree in Science in Applied Behavior Analysis.

In her capacity as Director of Education, Johnetta specializes in the comprehensive training of new hires, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles. Her commitment to education extends beyond initial training; she is also responsible for the implementation of ongoing training programs, ensuring continuous professional development within the organization.

As a Behavior Consultant, Johnetta plays a pivotal role in overseeing the development and implementation of treatment and behavior intervention plans for clients. Her leadership extends to supervising therapists, guiding them in providing the highest standard of care to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.

Certified as a Safety-Care Trainer, Johnetta’s dedication to her field is evident in her continuous pursuit of excellence and her commitment to best practices in ABA. She has a genuine passion for working with both children and adults with autism and developmental disabilities, helping them achieve greater independence and quality of life. Additionally, she takes great pride in educating parents on ABA techniques, empowering them to support their loved ones effectively.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Johnetta is an avid traveler who enjoys exploring new countries and immersing herself in diverse cultures. Her love for travel complements her work, allowing her to gain a broader perspective and understanding of the world, which she brings back to enrich her interactions and approach to therapy.
